Do you do reverse engineering for legacy industrial parts?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Reverse engineering is a core service. We take a physical part — often obsolete, undocumented, or modified over years of service — and recreate a manufacturable drawing. Our process uses CMM measurement for geometry capture, engineering judgement for tolerances and material identification, and CAD reconstruction in SolidWorks. Typical use cases: replacing worn-out equipment where the original OEM is out of business, obsolete water infrastructure parts, and legacy assets where drawings have been lost. Turnaround is usually 5-15 working days depending on complexity.

We have prior framework project experience through Principal Contractors and can be added as an approved sub-contractor on new frameworks through the standard procurement process. Direct Tier-1 procurement approval is on request.

Standard turnaround for a CNC-machined part is 2-4 weeks from approved drawing to delivered part, depending on complexity, material availability, and inspection requirements. We also offer a premium expedite service tier — some parts can be delivered as fast as one working day where the process and material stock allow. This is used for breakdown emergencies where operations can't wait. First-article inspection (FAIR) reports add typically 2-3 days to standard lead time.

Our in-house design arm (WeDesign) produces fabrication-ready drawings; our manufacturing arm (WeForge) handles machining, fabrication, and assembly; site installation and commissioning is delivered by Zedaxis engineers with full RAMS and CDM handover.

For structural steel fabrication, we hold EN 1090 certification at Execution Class 2 (EXC2), enabling CE-marked delivery. Our AS9100 Stage 2 audit with Bureau Veritas is in progress, with certification expected August 2026 — until issued we describe our systems as AS9100-aligned. Every part has material traceability from raw stock through machining records to inspection data on delivery.

Do you offer pump, motor, and gearbox refurbishment services?

Yes. Zedaxis provides refurbishment, servicing, repair, and planned maintenance for pumps, electric motors, and gearboxes used in water infrastructure, industrial process plant, and OEM applications. Both on-site and workshop repair are available — workshop capacity handles equipment up to 3 metres long and 2 tonnes. Scope includes strip-down and condition assessment, wear-part replacement, bearing and seal replacement, precision machining of shafts and housings, and functional testing before return-to-service. Refurbished pumps can be tested under load on our in-house hydraulic test rig. Motor rewinds and dynamic balancing are delivered via specialist partners as part of the workflow. Our own CNC machining and CMM inspection support the process — replacement parts are made in-house rather than waiting on OEM lead times.

Do you handle legacy or obsolete rotating equipment where OEM parts are no longer available?

Warranty terms on refurbished units are agreed per job at the quote stage.
